Cosmopolitan, open, welcoming, vital, elegant and modern; Bilbao combines traits of a unique and characteristic cultural heritage, with a new aesthetic social revitalization process.
Itinerary
After a one hour drive approximately, we will arrive to Bilbao, the financial capital of the Basque Country and the largest city. Once we get there we will start the tour visiting the city’s historical old quarter to explore its busy streets, churches, ancient local shops, and the largest indoor market of Europe: La Ribera Food Market. Afterwards we will walk along the path of the Nervion River, enjoying beautiful neoclassic buildings like the Arriaga Theatre and the City Hall and we will witness the urban transformation and regeneration brought about by the investment in numerous infrastructure projects like the Calatrava bridge, the Isozaki towers, the Iberdrola tower, the highest in the Basque Country and of course the highlight of the day, the Guggenheim Museum. Explore the museum by yourself, an audio guide is included in the ticket price

This unique museum built on a 32,500 square meter site in the center of Bilbao is an extraordinary combination of interconnecting shapes. The impressive limestone blocks contrast with curved architectural forms covered in titanium, and the glass curtain walling provides the building with the light and transparency it needs. After touring the museum, another classic design that we will see during our Bilbao city tour is La Alhóndiga, a former wine warehouse converted into an arts center by Philippe Starck and the Euskalduna Conference Centre. If you are an art lover visiting the Fine Arts Museum could be interesting to admire artists like Paul Gauguin, Goya, Murillo, El Greco, Francis Bacon or Eduardo Chillida.

"We spent a fun and informative day with Andoni. He was an excellent tour guide showing us the sights, while sharing his vast knowledge of the places we visited and their customs. We enjoyed visiting the local market and having lunch at a special restaurant selected by Andoni….a spot we would never have found on our own."BritEngland
"We came to the Spain for 8 days, 6 of them in the Basque Country. Andoni was particularly important to making this such a great trip because of his knowledge, enthusiasm, and he went out of his way to please us. I highly recommend this small and very personal type of travel service."EliUSA
