Birdsong and the lazy buzz of insects are the soundtracks to a romantic picnic amongst the century-old vines at a wine state in the heart of the Rioja Valley
Itinerary
We will leave San Sebastian and after a scenic drive of 1,5h approx. we will get to our first stop of the day charming town of Laguardia, a small picturesque town that is somewhat unreal, as from a fairy tale, with its narrow cobbled streets, with its ancient walls and with that medieval touch of distinction that fascinates travellers so much. We will also take you to get external views and photo opportunities of the unique architecture wineries as Marques del Riscal & Ysios. To continue our tour we will visit a traditional family run estate winery where winemaking has been passed down from generation to generation. From the vineyard to the labeling of the bottles; becoming familiar with the secrets of the entire process will enable you to understand why Rioja wines enjoy the prestige they do.
After the tour, its time for lunch and today will be in the vineyard inside the property, surrounded by terraces that slope down to the very bed of the Ebro river, in a wonderful landscape that is able to concentrate nature and with history and a wine culture dedicated almost exclusively to the vineyard growth. It is a special moment to share with family, friends or your couple. The picnic basket includes one of the wines you choose, Spanish omelet, bread with some cheese, Iberian ham and chorizo. Besides, the basket also contains natural chips, bottled water (two bottles) and a variety of fruits and vegetables from the area.
